As authors, we have the ability to give a present like no one else can: a custom written story.
This is what the Easter Bunny Twilight Fic Swap is all about—giving someone this great gift and getting one for you as well. This way, everybody’s a winner.
Easter is still months away, but writing a good story and getting it edited takes time. Therefore, we’re starting early!
So come on right up to the only place where you can be an Easter Bunny and not have to wear fluffy ears to do so, although they might help you get in character; we don’t rule anything out.
Dates and the works:
From today and until December 31, you think about what kind of fic your Easter Bunny to write for you. Feel free to look at our Picture Prompt Gallery and choose a picture that speaks to you, or you can bring your own picture if you find something you like.
From January 1 to January 20, sign up is open. If you have a picture picked, add the link (if it’s from the internet) or its number (if it’s from our gallery) in the form you fill. The more information you give in the form, the easier it will be for your Easter Bunny to write the story for you!
On January 22, you turn into an Easter Bunny! We email you with your assigned author, and you start writing. Please keep the identity of your assigned author a secret—we want it to be a surprise.
From January 22 to April 5 is the time for you to write, get your fic edited (beta’d), and send it to us by email.
All entries must be sent by April 6, 00:00 PST (Los Angeles).
That’s April 6, 03:00 EST (New York), April 6, 09:00 CET (Madrid), and April 6, 19:00 EDT (Sydney). I think that covers pretty much everyone on the globe.Send your finished story to this email: EasterBunnyTwiFS@gmail.com.
On April 7, the head Easter Bunny (which is us while we're wearing our cute fluffy ears) will give out his eggs. In other words: TIME FOR PRESENTS!
On April 8, you celebrate Easter with your family and friends.
On April 16, you are free to post your stories and take off the Easter Bunny's costume! We will post the full list of who wrote for whom as well as links to your blogs/sites/FFn profiles here on the blog, on our FFn profile, and our FFn Community.
Info to know:
Length: Minimum length of 5,000 words. Maximum length of 15,000 words.
No nos: pretty much the usual. No necrophilia (unless it’s a vampire), no incest (unless they are Cullens), no pedophilia (unless it’s a 109 year-old vampire with a teenage human), no bestiality (unless it’s a Quileute wolf), no rape.
Beta: Get your stories beta’d! It’s not a must since it’s not a competition, but we all would like to get a finished product, over a draft, so, please, make sure that you submit your on-shot only after it is edited.
Please note that it takes time for stories to be revised, so make sure you send with time to spare. If you don’t have a beta, you can submit your fic to Sparkly Red Pen or Project Team Beta. For those small questions that you just can’t find the answer to, try Emergency Beta Services.
For the quick writers: If you are quick and can get your one-shot done before March 5, 2012 and you can’t get a beta, you can send it over to us. There are a couple of betas that volunteered their services for this event, who can help given enough time. If you chose this option, make sure to note in the email that the entry needs to be beta'd!
